Where to begin your research:
Understanding Time of Use, Net Energy metering, and your buildings facilities. Commercial properties have a slightly different process for adding solar as compared to residential projects. The general size of the systems that are added in commercial applications and the technical differences for larger main service panels and electric hook-ups also impact the review process. As you review different solar options it is important to understand how energy production is calculated and how much you intend to use.
How Cost per kWh is calculated: Total Estimated Production of the system over 25 years with the degradation rate for the panel accounted for divided by the cost of the system.
How Payback is Calculated: By dividing the total contract amount by the estimate yearly value of on-site generated electricity at current utility rates.
